Class Information

Welcome to our Life Skills Class page!

Visit this page often to stay up-to-date on what we are doing to prepare your child for his future!  We all work together to prepare each child to be successful in life.  You can expect to see announcements of exciting activities that we engage in as well as pictures that should make you very proud of your child's accomplishments!

We are very intentional about using technology in all aspects of the educational process.  This includes the use of interactive programs and lessons designed to highlight each student's strengths and to successfully engage him in the process.

Some suggestions for improving reading skills

  • Read to your child.
  • Have your child "read" to you. Allow him to create this own story based on the pictures he sees within the book.
  • Reread stories multiple times.
  • Omit words of a familiar story and allow your child to fill in the blank.
  • Allow your child to experiment with words.
  • Point to the words on the page as you read out loud to your child. This enables him to understand that sentences consist of separate words.
